Selected Paintings

For this exhibition we have selected 80 to 90 recent paintings, all in large or very large format. In order to give an appropriate impression of size and effect the paintings are displayed in room-like views. Because of the size of the paintings and since we offer high resolution photographs, the paintings should be viewed on large displays only, the presentation is not suited for small displays.
There are various possibilities for walking through the exhibition. We recommend to just follow the arrows from room to room. The grouping of the paintings in views and the sequence of rooms has been arranged by Eveline Krebs, my partner. Alternatively, the overview pages can be used for orientation and direct access to the respective views.
Hovering over the pictures magnifies, clicking leads to info pages with links to high resolution photographs.

Painting technique
All paintings are in pure acrylic (without addicts) on canvas or PE-cardboard which is a cardboard coated with a thin polyethylene foil. I discovered this material by chance and experimented with it. It is not easy to handle since initially the colour drops off the foil, but with sufficient exercise it may pay off with stumbling results. It permits an extremely detailed working because of the fine-grained surface. The material also fits well with my associative painting technique which is based on the integration of random effects. Colourful paintings and "Rauhbilder"
Most of my paintings are quite colourful and the majority of the paintings selected here is of this type, see Main Overview. However, there is also another line I pursue. It all started at the end of 2019 in the nights between Christmas and the 6th of January when some dark and almost monochrome paintings emerged. Since those nights are called "Rauhnächte" in German, I like to call these paintings "Rauhbilder". We show some of them in a separate listing: Overview "Rauhbilder".
